I really thought I was going to play hopscotch forever

I really thought I was going to play hopscotch forever like it was a serious life skill. We’d draw those crooked squares in chalk, argue over the “right” rock, and act like landing on a line was a federal crime. Now I look at it like… we were training for absolutely nothing, but we were committed.
