Yeah, and the speed is exactly what makes it feel overwhelming. Past tech waves rolled in slowly enough that people could adjust without everything changing overnight. This one feels like it’s everywhere all at once, every platform, every industry, every conversation.
When everything moves that fast it starts to blur together, and it’s hard to tell what’s actually real innovation and what’s just more noise layered on top of it. That’s probably why more people are starting to feel the urge to unplug and step away from it for a while.

I think the speed is the real difference this time. Past tech shifts happened over decades. AI feels like it’s compressing that timeline into just a few years, which doesn’t give people much time to adapt. The jobs may change instead of disappearing, but the transition could be rough for a lot of people.

People keep arguing about whether AI will replace jobs. History suggests technology usually reshapes jobs instead of eliminating them completely. The real challenge will be how fast people can adapt to the change.
